Enter the month and values for each weather measurement.

Not legal or tax advice — check your contract. Your contract terms and the facts of your job can change the answer.

How this works

NEC4 ECC 60.1(13) deals with specified weather measurements recorded within a calendar month before Completion of the whole works, at the place stated in the Contract Data.

Default measures are cumulative rainfall, days with rainfall over 5 mm, days below 0°C minimum air temperature, and days with snow lying at 09:00 GMT. Other Contract Data measures can be added.

A measurement worse than its 1-in-10-year value identifies the excess. Only the difference enters assessment, not all the weather recorded. Enter the appropriate direction for any additional measure.

The 1-in-10-year data usually comes from the Met Office. The comparison does not establish delay, cost or compliance with CE notification requirements.

FAQs

Does any wet month qualify?

No. A stated measurement must be worse than its 1-in-10-year value, with the timing and place requirements met.

Does all the recorded weather count?

No. Only the difference beyond the threshold enters CE assessment.

Where do I get the threshold?

Use the weather data specified in the Contract Data, usually obtained from the Met Office.

What if Completion falls within the month?

Review the contract and timing carefully. This tool flags months which are not wholly before Completion for contract-specific review.

Civvio works this out automatically from your contract and site records.

Upload the contract and keep your diary, and Civvio flags the dates, notices and money at risk on every job — for you to review before anything is sent.
